What is The Humane Space?

The Humane Space is a wellness company that helps people live more meaningful lives through lifelong learning, curiosity, and awe. Through The Humane Space app, we curate multimedia stories and thoughtful daily prompts that feed curiosity and widen perspective, encouraging you to consider the worlds beyond and within.

Why is lifelong learning important?

Lifelong learning is a form of voluntary, self-motivated education that typically takes place outside of a formal educational institution, such as a school or university. According to Procedia, a social and behavioral science journal, lifelong learning “not only enhances social inclusion, active citizenship and individual development, but also increases competitiveness and employability.” Research suggests that lifelong learning can keep our brains healthy and increase our sense of fulfillment and self-esteem.

Why is it important to live more curiously?

Curiosity is an often overlooked key to greater fulfillment in life. It’s correlated with higher levels of positive emotions, lower levels of anxiety, and greater psychological well-being. Of the 24 character strengths measured by the Via Institute On Character, curiosity was one of the most strongly linked to life satisfaction, work satisfaction, living a pleasurable life, living an engaging life, and living a meaningful life.

Why is it important to incorporate awe into my daily life?

Experiencing awe has been found to increase feelings of well-being, life satisfaction and sense of meaning. A 2021 study found that people who feel more awe reported feeling lowered levels of daily stress – suggesting that the sense of vastness that awe elicits can help put our worries into perspective.

How does the free trial work?

Enjoy 7 days for free on the app. To get started, download the app and follow the instructions to begin your free trial, after which, you'll be charged according to whichever subscription plan you chose. To cancel during your free trial before being charged, turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

To turn off auto-renewal through Apple or Google subscriptions on your device. For instructions on managing auto-renewals for subscriptions on an Apple device, click here. For instructions on managing auto-renewals for subscriptions on an Android device, click here. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the current subscription period ends.

How do I subscribe to the app?

If you haven't downloaded the app yet, first download it on your app store of choice and follow the instructions to begin your subscription. If you've already downloaded the app, log in and as you try to view content, you'll see a button prompting you to begin a free trial.

How do I find out what kind of subscription I have?

To see, change or cancel your subscription, follow these steps:

On an iOS device:
Open the settings on your iOS device. Tap your name at the top of the screen. Tap “Subscriptions.” There you can view your subscription, make any changes, or cancel.

On an Android device:
Open the Google Play app. At the top right, tap the profile icon. Tap “Payments & Subscriptions,” and then “Subscriptions.”

How do I find out when my subscription ends?

To see when your subscription ends, follow these steps:

On an iOS device:
Open the settings on your iOS device. Tap your name at the top of the screen. Tap “Subscriptions.” There you can view your subscription, and when it’s scheduled to either expire or renew.

On an Android device:
Open the Google Play app. At the top right, tap the profile icon. Tap “Payments & Subscriptions,” and then “Subscriptions.” There you can view your subscription, and when it’s scheduled to either expire or renew.

How do I turn on notifications?

Daily Curiosity notifications give you a daily dose of inspiring ideas, self-reflection prompts, and tips for having an awe-inspired day.


To manage app notifications, first open The Humane Space app. Then, tap the menu target button on the upper right hand corner of your screen. Tap Notifications (depending on where you are in the app, you may need to tap Settings & Help first, then Notifications). From there you can set when you want notifications to arrive and turn them on and off.

How do I update my email address?

To update your email from The Humane Space app, follow these steps. Open the app. Tap the menu target button in the upper right corner of your screen, then tap My Space. Then tap the circle on the bottom (above your profile name). On Edit Profile, you can change your email address. Tap Save Profile to save any changes.

How do I reset my password?

If you're currently logged into the app, tap the menu target button in the upper right corner of your screen and then tap Change Password (depending on where you are in the app, you may need to first tap Settings & Help). Once you see the Password Reset screen, enter your old password and new password and tap Reset Password to save any changes.


If you're not currently logged into the app, open The Humane Space app. Type your email into the email input line and then tap "Forgot?" (it's on the right side of the password input line). An email will be sent to the account associated with your subscription. Follow the instructions to reset your password. If you do not receive an email, you might have typed the wrong email address or your account is under a different email address. Feel free to reach out to us for human-to-human support if you need further help at hi@thehumane.space.

How do I update my profile?

To update your app profile, first open The Humane Space app and log in. Then tap the target menu button on the upper right corner of your screen, and tap My Space. Tap on your profile picture at the bottom of the screen (above your name), which will take you to the Edit Profile screen. Edit your profile such as first name, last name, email address, and profile picture. Tap Save Profile to save any changes.

How do I unsubscribe from emails?

On every marketing email we send out, there is an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click the link to update your preferences. We may still send occasional emails with important updates and information about purchases or subscriptions.

What are your privacy practices?

We care about the privacy of your data. You can access our privacy policy here or in the app by tapping the target menu button on the upper right corner of the screen and then tap Privacy Policy (depending on where you are in the app, you may need to tap Settings & Help first).

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account, first open the app and log in. Then tap the menu target button on the upper right corner of your screen. Tap Delete My Account (depending on where you are in the app, you may need to first tap Settings & Help). You'll be prompted to delete your account from there.

How to I cancel my subscription?

If you're still on a free trial, you don't need to cancel. We don't force people to subscribe to try The Humane Space app. If you have actually subscribed and received a subscription confirmation from Apple or Google, you can cancel any time by managing your subscription and auto-renewal through your Apple or Google subscriptions on your device. For instructions on canceling a subscription on an Apple device, visit: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202039. For instructions on adjusting or canceling a subscription on an Android device, visit: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid. You can navigate content by swiping right/left to move forward/backward. How do I search content within the app?

To search content within the app, open the app and tap the target menu button in the upper right corner of your screen, then tap either Spaces or Mind Journeys™. Once on the Explore screen, type in a keyword in the search bar on the top of the screen. Results will appear below, where you can filter by subject and/or experience for Spaces and duration for Mind Journeys™.

How do I share content?

You are able to share Spaces, Phases, and Mind Journeys™ in the app. First, open the app. As you're viewing content, tap the target menu button on the upper right corner of your screen and tap the share button (two circles with an arrow). Alternatively, you can also share from the My Space screen as well. Sharing is possible via text, email or on Instagram.

How do I navigate between Spaces and Mind Journeys®?

To switch back and forth between Spaces or Mind Journeys®, tap the target menu button on the upper right corner of your screen. Then tap either Spaces or Mind Journeys®. Alternatively, when you are on the Explore screen for either section, use the toggle in the upper left corner of the screen to go back and forth between the two areas of content.

Which languages are available on your app?

Currently, The Humane Space is only available in English. Stay tuned for updates.

When will the app be available outside the US?

We have gotten many requests to open access to the app outside of the U.S. and we're working to make it available in a broader release. We're exploring ways to release the app more widely. Sign up to for emails to get updates on releases.  You can also find great content that we post weekly on Instagram.

The app is crashing and I'm not sure why?

If the app is repeatedly crashing, first see how many apps you have open when the crashes occur. Try quitting some of the apps you're using and see if the crashes are repeating. If they are, please email us at hi@thehumane.space with as much information as you can provide about when the crash happened and what you were doing when it crashed. We go through rigorous testing before releasing any new version. With so many types of phones available, it's possible that crash sequences can be happening for particular devices. Please note that the app was only created for phones (not tablet devices). We're grateful for your feedback in making us aware of any crashes, and we'll work to resolve any bugs as quickly as possible!

How do I report a problem?
